Responsibilities

  • Manage purchasing activities for internally assembled products, ensuring timely and cost-effective material acquisition.
  • Create component orders to support Category Managers and assembly operations.
  • Identify material shortages and coordinate delivery solutions with the appropriate Category Manager.
  • Support Category Managers by contacting vendors to assess delivery progress and address delays.
  • Assist Category Managers in identifying, evaluating, and qualifying new material suppliers.
  • Monitor material costs against established budgets and report variances to the Assembly CPM.
  • Facilitate communication between manufacturers, the Quality Manager, and Category Managers to resolve quality issues.
  • Identify opportunities for material cost savings and communicate findings to the Assembly CPM.
  • Work closely with SCM, Assembly, Quality, and suppliers to maintain efficient material flow.

Demand Manager - Vanderlande Logistics

Overview

The Demand Manager supports Vanderlande's Supply Chain Management (SCM) function by overseeing purchasing activities, coordinating material flow, and ensuring timely, cost-effective acquisition of components for internally assembled products. This role partners closely with Category Managers, Quality, Assembly CPM, and external suppliers to maintain material availability, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing oversight - Manage purchasing activities for internally assembled products, ensuring timely and cost-effective material acquisition.
  • Order creation - Create component orders to support Category Managers and assembly operations.
  • Material shortage management - Identify material shortages and coordinate delivery solutions with the appropriate Category Manager.
  • Supplier communication - Support Category Managers by contacting vendors to assess delivery progress, address delays, and ensure on-time supply.
