Work You'll Do

As a US Delivery Senior Consultant on the team, you will:
  • Transition / Ramp-up
    • Learn tenant configuration including ledgers, worktags, accounting validations, posting logic, and accounting-related Business Processes (BPs), approvals, and security.
    • Review runbooks, configuration workbooks, known issues, release history, and reporting inventory supporting accounting and close.
    • Build understanding of upstream transaction sources (e.g., Spend, Banking, Grants) and downstream reporting/audit needs.
  • Day-One Surge Support (Hypercare/Stabilization)
    • Triage and resolve production issues impacting accounting: posting errors, journal exceptions, worktag/validation failures, close blockers, and security/access issues.
    • Execute hypercare routines (daily triage, defect trending, hot-fix validation, stakeholder comms) with strong ticket hygiene and documentation.
  • Steady-State Operate (O&M)
    • Provide ongoing incident/request/problem support for accounting operations, including close readiness, reconciliations support, and repeat-issue root cause coordination.
    • Maintain and improve SOPs, knowledge articles, and controls documentation to strengthen auditability.
  • Innovate & Optimize
    • Identify opportunities to adopt new/unused Workday functionality that improves close speed and accuracy (e.g., streamlined validations, improved journals processing, enhanced operational reporting).
    • Lead/participate in more complex enhancements: redesign BP routing/conditions, strengthen validation strategy, expand reporting, and support mini-projects tied to compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Functional Scope
    • Workday Financials core accounting operations: journals, accounting validations, posting, worktags, close support, and accounting-related reporting and security.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Workday Financial Services Certified and/or Workday Accounting Center Certified
  • 5+ years of experience in Workday Financials Accounting to include the following;
    • Understanding of Workday Accounting concepts (accounting/posting files, banking/ACH, suppliers/spend, grants-related feeds; stronger focus on controls, reconciliation, and cutoffs)
    • Experience working on triage, issue resolution, and incident management
    • Client facing operational support
  • Delivery Center Location & Travel Requirements:
    • Hybrid Work Model: Operate under a hybrid system requiring residence within a commutable distance to one of the US Delivery Center locations (Gilbert, Lake Mary, or Mechanicsburg) or Geo-Hub locations (Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, and Philadelphia)
    • Co-location Expectation: Spend up to 30% of working time co-located at an assigned office for orchestrated opportunities, including projects, practice sessions, training, and Moments That Matter at a Deloitte Delivery Center location, Geo-Hub location, approved site, or project location
    • Travel Requirement: Maximum of 10% overnight travel for client or project purposes
    • Relocation Requirement: If relocation is necessary, complete the move within 12 weeks from the start date to reside within a commutable distance
