Full Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Transformation Lead to act as the single point of accountability for infrastructure delivery across a Tier 1 trading-platform transformation program. The Lead is the "neck of the hourglass" - the one technical leader who takes demand from every workstream (Sybase→Oracle, Archiving & Retention, Workflow Decomposition, RADAR, Release Management, System Monitoring, Environment Management, Operational Dashboard, Storage Isolation and others) and converts it into agreed requirements, technical specifications and delivered infrastructure. This is a working leadership role, not a status-reporting role. The successful candidate will be accountable (A in RACI) for infrastructure outcomes, partnered with the Infrastructure Delivery Manager (R in RACI), challenged plans, refined requirements, and drove build-to-date. Responsibilities Own the infrastructure plan. Build it with the workstreams and the Infrastructure Delivery Manager at the outset; then own it - adjust, re-plan, and adapt as the work evolves Translate workstream demand into infrastructure requirements. Take workstream objectives, refine them into clear requirements, then agree detailed technical specifications with the delivery teams Challenge and shape options. Present good / better / best options to workstream leads; help them select pragmatically based on cost, time and risk Drive delivery to milestones. Track dependencies, identify risks, and drive the infrastructure build (compute, storage, network, virtualization, configuration) to date Surface and resolve issues. Proactively look across the program for blockers and dependencies between workstreams and infrastructure. Own issues from identification to closure Convene and chair the work. Organize and chair infrastructure forums, working groups, and cross-workstream technical sessions. Hold the cadence Escalate with judgment. Know what needs to go up and when. Manage upward visibility without burning the chain unnecessarily Own status, comms and schedule. Drive delivery to schedule. Manage stakeholder communications. Produce a status that reflects reality Requirements Demonstrable, hands-on delivery of large-scale infrastructure transformation in a complex, regulated enterprise - compute, storage, network, virtualization, environments and operational tooling Deep, working domain expertise in enterprise infrastructure: storage architectures (included storage isolation/segregation patterns), capacity and performance management, environment strategy (dev/UAT/perf/prod), release and configuration management, monitoring and observability Proven ability to act as the single technical face-off between business/application workstreams and infrastructure delivery teams - the "neck of the hourglass" - converted demand into agreed specifications and delivered build Track record of taken accountability (A in RACI) for infrastructure outcomes while partnered with delivery managers who hold R Previous large-scale transformation experience in financial services or another complex, high-availability environment Proven ability to operate as a working Lead - comfortable in the technical detail with architects and engineers, while still owned plan, status, risks and stakeholder communications Strong written and verbal communication; able to write clearly, chair effectively, and brief senior stakeholders Nice to have Experience supported database migrations from an infrastructure perspective (Sybase, Oracle, or equivalent) - included storage, throughput and HA considerations Exposure to trading, risk, or front-to-back capital-markets platforms Experience with archiving and retention infrastructure, system monitoring tooling, and operational dashboards
