Defense Acquisition Analyst (Business Systems Analyst)

**Future Opportunity**

CSEngineering is seeking a Defense Acquisition Analyst to join our growing team! This role will support the analysis and management of defense acquisition programs by providing technical expertise in DoD acquisition systems, lifecycle management, and business process analysis across enterprise IT portfolios. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with DoD acquisition reporting systems, lifecycle frameworks, and the analytical skills to support program teams through complex business system environments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Defense Acquisition Analyst will serve as an expert in DoD acquisition business processes, responsible for formulating systems scope and objectives relative to organizational business plans and industry requirements, and providing technical guidance on the business implications of various information systems.
  • Analyze and formulate systems scope and objectives aligned to organizational business plans and DoD acquisition requirements to support program execution.
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams on the business implications of applying various information and acquisition systems across the enterprise.
  • Prepare and format reports for the Defense Acquisition Executive Summary (DAES) OSD and the Defense Acquisition Management Information Retrieval (DAMIR) System in compliance with applicable reporting standards.
  • Apply knowledge of DoD lifecycle management frameworks, including DoD 5000.1, 5000.2, and the DoD Acquisition Guidebook, to support program planning and execution.
  • Support Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) activities to ensure resource alignment with programmatic objectives.
  • Utilize the ARIS system engineering tool to document, analyze, and improve business processes across acquisition program environments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports to support program stakeholders and leadership in meeting acquisition milestones and compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and provide recommendations to enhance acquisition program effectiveness and efficiency.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Security Clearance: Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC).
  • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized authority
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience preparing reports for DAES OSD and the DAMIR System
  • Knowledge of DoD Lifecycle Management and DoD 5000.1, 5000.2, and Acquisition Guidebook
  • Experience with Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE)
  • Proficiency with the ARIS system engineering tool

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with DoD enterprise acquisition systems and program reporting environments
  • Familiarity with defense business systems lifecycle management

Location: Washington, DC (NCR) with potential travel to other government sites as required.
