Job Title: Project Manager - Utility Construction and Maintenance
Location: Hamilton, Ontario

Position Summary
DDP Technology Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead utility construction and maintenance projects from planning through completion. This role involves managing schedules, budgets, field crews, subcontractors, and client communications, while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract specifications and regulatory requirements.

This position focuses on the project management and administrative aspects of utility construction while maintaining a regular field presence to support on-site teams. The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for the safety, financial performance, and successful delivery of assigned projects and serves as the primary liaison between the company, clients, and key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in the utility or electrical industry and excels at balancing technical, financial, and leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage utility construction projects including underground and/or overhead installations
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts
  • Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and utility representatives
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies
  • Track project progress and resolve issues related to scope, schedule, or cost
  • Prepare and submit project reports, change orders, and billing documentation
  • Oversee monthly invoicing and approve job costing for assigned projects
  • Resolve project challenges including weather delays, emergencies, and site constraints
  • Secure subcontractors and manage major material procurement
  • Assist with subcontractor contract negotiations
  • Work closely with supervisors to troubleshoot issues and develop effective solutions
  • Conduct site visits to ensure projects are ready
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers

Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of project management experience
  • Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or Powerline Technician is required
  • Experience in the Electrical Distribution/Utility Industry is required
  • PMP is considered an asset
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Familiarity with local permitting and inspection processes is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience with scheduling software and project management tools
