Full Job Description
Serco is hiring a DDG 1000 Surface Warfare Instructor with Electron/Information Warfare Specialty to support the DDG 1000 ZUMWALT Training Facility (ZTF) and associated training products. Under general supervision, conducts and/or facilitates moderately complex technical training courses for end-users. Initiates and provides follow-up for technical reviews to ensure curriculum quality and consistency. Gauge customer satisfaction and success of training with standard metrics such as evaluation surveys and skills tests.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Sets up and maintains training environment including trainers and support equipment.
• Conducts or facilitates moderately complex technical training courses for end-users.
• Selects appropriate training aids.
• Prepares lesson plans relevant to training material.
• Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, course evaluations and program effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement.
• Recommends methods for class design and delivery.
• Interfaces with training developers, subject matter experts and program/project managers.
• Operates and supports training in the Ship's Mission Center Simulator.
• Responsible for development, updates, and delivery of the following DDG 1000 Training Courses:
• S-4C-0614 - Network and Communications Operations
• S-4C-1162 - External Communications Systems Maintenance
• S-4C-0613 - Internal Communications Maintenance
• S-250-1097 - Total Ship Computing Environment (TSCE) Operations
• S-250-1096 - Total Ship Computing Environment (TSCE) Overview
• CSC-CONSL-0002 - Information Operations Coordinator Console Operations
• CSC-IW-0001 - Information Warfare (IW) Operations
• CSC-CONSL-0003 - Intelligence Collection Specialist Console Operations
• CSC-CONSL-0013 - Electronic Intelligence Collection Console Operations
To be successful in this role, you must have:
• US Citizenship
• An active DoD issued Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Networking/Communications is preferred.
• Educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than five years' applicable work experience.
• Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
• Training and Development or a related discipline plus 5 years of directly related experience with LINUX and Electronic/Information Warfare practices.
• Excellent presentation and teaching skills with ability to create successful hands-on learning experiences for students.
• Ability to quickly learn moderately complex subject matter with the skill to present the material to a live audience.
• Must have the ability to work as a part of a team.
• Moderate degree of creativity and self-directed work is required.
• SME in Information Warfare and Electronic Warfare systems.
• Ability to travel up to 25%
Desired Skills
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the training field.
• Familiarity with DDG-1000 Training Simulator Systems.
• Master Training Specialist/Afloat Training Specialist a definite PLUS!
