Full Job Description
The Database Engineering Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional responsible for ensuring 24x7 availability, performance optimization, administration, modern development, and intelligent automation across enterprise database platforms. The role combines deep expertise in Oracle (RAC, Data Guard, 19c, PL/SQL development) and multi-database platforms (OraaS, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB) with the application of AI-driven tools and automation for smart diagnostics, intelligent query/code optimization, automated monitoring, and predictive support. Applies subject matter expertise, leads root cause analyses, drives automation, and mentors team members while adhering to firm-wide risk and control standards.

Responsibilities
  • Performance, Monitoring & Intelligent Diagnostics: Monitor database health, availability, and performance; analyze AWR, ADDM, and OEM reports; optimize SQL queries, indexes, memory allocation, and storage utilization; troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks proactively using traditional and AI-powered diagnostic/tuning tools.
  • Incident Management & AI-Assisted Support: Analyze and resolve production database issues; troubleshoot ORA errors and critical incidents; coordinate with Oracle Support for complex issues; leverage AI-based support tools and knowledge assistants for accelerated incident triage, root cause analysis (RCA), and preventive action planning to guarantee 24x7 availability.
  • Database Administration & Lifecycle Management: Create and manage database instances, schemas, tablespaces, users, roles, and privileges; manage database storage structures and capacity planning; monitor tablespace usage, archive logs, jobs, and alerts.
  • Upgrades, Migrations & Disaster Recovery: Plan and execute database upgrades (19c, etc.); perform migrations across environments and platforms; conduct backup validation and disaster recovery (DR) testing.
  • AI-Powered Development & Automation: Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL, PL/SQL, and Shell scripts; leverage AI developer assistance tools for code generation, SQL refactoring, and code review; automate database monitoring, health checks, maintenance tasks, and operational workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Governance & Risk: Appropriately assess risk in technical and business decisions, safeguarding the firm's assets and reputation by adhering to policies, regulatory standards, and transparent control management.


Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 10+ years of overall IT experience with 8+ years of specialized Oracle DBA and Database Development experience.
  • Core Oracle Expertise: Oracle DB developer and administration, RAC, Data Guard, Performance Tuning, Database Upgrades (19c), SQL, PL/SQL, and Data Pump (expdp/impdp).
  • AI-Driven Database Engineering & Support:
    • Proficiency in utilizing AI tools for Oracle/Database development (e.g., AI-assisted SQL/PL/SQL coding, refactoring, unit testing, query optimization).
    • Experience leveraging AI tools for database support and operations (e.g., AI-assisted incident diagnosis, log/telemetry pattern analysis, automated anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance).
  • Multi-Database Knowledge: Hands-on experience and expertise in PostgreSQL; working knowledge of SQL Server and MongoDB.
  • Automation & DevOps: Proficient in Shell scripting, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure Automation tools.
  • Professional Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and diplomacy skills; demonstrated capability in incident leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
