Program OverviewSupports the NTIA ISCOM program by engineering secure Azure and hybrid database solutions supporting mission-critical Federal systems.
Position OverviewDesigns, implements, secures, optimizes, and supports Azure SQL, Managed Instance, Cosmos DB, and hybrid database environments while collaborating with DevOps and infrastructure teams.
Core Responsibilities - Design and manage Azure SQL Database, Azure Managed Instance, and Cosmos DB.
- Optimize database performance, indexing, and storage.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and high availability.
- Implement security, auditing, and compliance controls.
- Use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Support CI/CD and DevOps automation.
- Troubleshoot database issues and mentor junior staff.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years database engineering experience.
- Expertise with Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, Cosmos DB, T-SQL, PowerShell, Azure CLI.
- Experience with Azure PaaS/IaaS, performance tuning, backup, security, and DevOps.
- U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications - Azure Database Administrator certification.
- Department of Commerce or NTIA experience.
- Hybrid or multi-cloud database experience.
