Your Next Career Opportunity 6 Database Developer II
Responsible for supporting the development, implementation and ongoing day-to-day administration of SQL databases. Will also manage database applications and reports, support developers and help optimize / tune database queries.
What You Will Do 6 Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with database Operations (DBAs) to understand database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, programming and reviewing objectives with stakeholders.
- Handle multiple simultaneous adhoc requests from users and prioritize based on business need in a fast paced, challenging environment.
- Design, code, and implement complex business process within TSQL using Stored Procedures, views, functions, and .Net where applicable.
- Maintains database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance; answering user questions.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain multiple Microsoft SQL Servers in large scale standalone and clustered environments, replication, and database mirroring. SQL Versions 2005-2012.
- Develops database solutions by designing proposed system, defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.
- Partner with Database Operations (DBAs) to monitor and maintain database performance, helping identify issues and working together on resolution.
- Work with (DBAs) on installation, upgrades, and maintenance of SQL Server environments by providing application specific input and testing support.
- Provide support to the development staff optimizing stored procedures and Transact-SQL.
- Responsible for making improvement recommendations to the Manager of Database Systems concerning changes in business process, internal department process, software development tools.
- Assist in developing database-related solutions by contributing to design discussions around physical structures, functional apabilities, and intergration needs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Experience using and responding to events from SQL monitoring software such as Confio Ignite and Microsoft Systems center.
- Write, maintain, and perform ETL9s for production and test environments.
- Knowledgeable in Application Lifecycle Management. Test to Production deployment.
- Provide support to the development staff optimizing stored procedures and Transact-SQL.
- Deliver excellent service through actively learning the companies business, responding to the needs of the internal customer, and following through on commitments.
- Ensures complete issue tracking and reporting is accomplished.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
What You9ll Need 6 Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor9s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field of study; applicable industry certifications expected;
- and 3-5 years relevant experience with MS SQL Server in a DBA or equivalent role 6 including extensive experience in T-SQL, SQL replication, ADO, and coding triggers and stored procedures. Previous experience working in a large financial and accounting environment. Previous experience in coding and supporting. NET desirable.
- Current technical expertise in Microsoft SSRS & SSIS.
- Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft CRM, and Microsoft Sharepoint experience preferred.
- Oracle OBIEE and Hyperion Essbase experience preferred.
- Develops company reporting and dashboards using Microsoft standard tools such as PowerBI and SQL Server Reporting Services
- Other MCDBA certification
