About the role

Concept Plus is seeking a Database Administrator to provide enterprise-level management, maintenance, and oversight of mission critical database systems in support of the organization's applications and digital services. This role ensures secure, reliable, and optimized data environments in alignment with federal standards for availability, integrity, and performance. The Administrator is responsible for database architecture, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, as well as implementing modernization practices and evaluating emerging tools-including automation and AI enabled capabilities-to improve operational efficiency and support long term data strategy. Working closely with developers, system engineers, and program stakeholders, the Database Administrator ensures database assets remain scalable, compliant, and aligned with mission and operational requirements

What you'll do

  • Administer and maintain enterprise MS SQL databases hosted on LAN servers, ensuring availability, stability, and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Design, architect, and sustain new databases to support emerging business needs, application development efforts, and mission critical operational requirements.
  • Manage user access, permissions, and security controls for common user databases, ensuring proper authorization and adherence to governance and audit requirements.
  • Manage scheduled backups, execute recovery procedures, and maintain readiness to restore data and services in accordance with continuity-of-operations expectations.
  • Safeguard the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of all data across managed database environments through proactive monitoring and validation practices.
  • Develop, optimize, and support MS SQL databases required for business processes, analytics, reporting, and web based applications.
  • Evaluate and integrate opportunities to use automation and AI assisted tools-such as for performance monitoring, anomaly detection, routine maintenance tasks, or code review-to improve efficiency, reliability, and overall database operations.


Required Qualifications

  • US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a government clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience administering and supporting MS SQL Server databases in an enterprise environment, including Azure SQL or hybrid on prem/Azure data architectures.
  • Hands on experience with Azure data services (such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, or Azure Storage) and familiarity with cloud based security, scaling, and performance considerations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in database performance tuning, backup/recovery operations, and maintaining data integrity across on prem and cloud environments.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex database issues, implement secure access controls, and support mission critical applications within Agile or DevOps oriented workflows.
  • Must hold, or be able to obtain, an approved IAT II baseline certification, such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or CASP+, or ISC2 CISSP.
