Full Job Description
Amentum is seeking a Data Specialist II to join our team supporting a new team at the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Washington, DC.

This position is expected to work full-time onsite in Washington, DC.

Position Description:

This is a mid-level position operating under the direction of more senior Contractor IT staff. Performs file manipulation, loading, conversion services, database indexing, and quality checks of loads. Develops, evaluates and modifies methodologies and procedures for manipulating files for use with COTS products and litigation support applications. Responsible for ensuring that incoming productions are made pursuant to the applicable ESI specifications and when deficiencies are found, provides Senior Data Specialist with detailed notice of deficiencies. Performs advanced tasks related to exporting data from contractor and DOJ databases, including: identifying data for export, confirming redactions and other markups, ensuring that exports comply with applicable ESI specifications, and quality check of exported data.

Qualifications:
  • Must be versed in handling many different formats of data including raw ESI, email, load ready, etc. Candidates should be familiar with processing tools in general (Nuix, RelOne), workflow of processing data, culling techniques, etc.
  • Requires knowledge of litigation discovery process, and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) workflow.
  • Knowledge of Government's IT environment, including office automation networks, PC and server-based applications preferred.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers, including Windows, document review software, and encryption methods.
  • Experience with LAW, IPRO, Relativity or other document processing platform. Familiarity with ICONECT, Relativity, MS Office Suite, and West LiveNote valued.
  • At least two years' experience performing eDiscovery roles including but not limited to electronic files processing (EFP), image and data file conversion, data culling using review tools, quality assurance, database loads and retrieval, and data analysis.
  • Undergraduate degree is preferred - preferably in computer science or related field.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

*Employees will earn H&W dollars per eligible hour (including vacation and holiday up to 40 hours/week). H&W monies are used to offset the employer's cost of benefits the employee elects into and/or utilizes. Any remaining health and welfare monies after all applicable deductions would be cashed out to the employee on a 1 pay period lag.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
