THE WORK
As a key member of our team, you will:
• Lead a multidisciplinary team to design, develop and deliver advanced analytics that enable the proactive identification and mitigation of cost, readiness and risk issues facing fleets of aircraft.
• Collaborate with commercial and military aircraft sustainment teams to accelerate business decisions, investigate fleet degraders for root cause and recommend product and process improvements.
• Analyze and interpret data leading to development and implementation of predictive models / forecasting and decision optimization tools.
• Solicit and understand new use cases, design and estimate optimal solutions, and deliver scalable products. Capture ROI of new tools & analyses.
• Identify talent needs, recruit, coach, maintain talent pipeline, and allocate team members and resources to meet project demands.

Basic Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship, able to work on-site in Trumbull CT at least 3 days/wk.
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Mechanical/Aerospace/Systems Engineering, Math/Stats, Physics or a related field and 5+ years of professional experience related to analytics and/or engineering of aircraft or other complex systems.
• 3+ years of experience in technical leadership with a focus on systems engineering, analytic product development, or a related field.
• Experience with scripting languages, data manipulation, agile software development and analytic tools. Examples include Python, SQL, Excel, GitLab and Tableau.
• Familiarity with machine-learning and predictive-modeling methodologies
• Ability to plan and execute projects, utilizing Project Management techniques to maintain control over cost, schedule and performance, as well as to manage your team's tasks.
Desired skills
• Master's degree in Data Science, Mechanical/Aerospace/Systems Engineering, Math, Physics or a related field
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork. Ability to analyze complex problems, develop creative solutions, and leverage data visualizations to convey impactful messages.
• Experience managing technical teams designing and deploying AI/ML powered solutions for data products and statistical analysis
• Experience in aircraft design, maintenance, operations and/or sustainment (including supply chain and logistics domains)
• Must have a pioneering mindset, able to tackle new challenges and engage new stakeholders proactively without specific direction or complete definition.
• Familiarity with model interpretability, explain-ability, and transparency
Ability to work remotely
Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,200 - $225,975. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $147,400 - $255,530. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
