Job DescriptionThe
Data Platform Manager owns the reliability, scalability, and day-to-day operations of the TFA data platform. This role has primary responsibility for data ingestion pipelines, data conversion projects supporting implementations, ongoing maintenance, and development of the TFA data warehouse used for analytics and operational reporting. The Data Platform Manager is responsible for ensuring downstream data readiness so that analytics and operations teams can safely and consistently consume trusted data. This role directly supervises senior technical staff responsible for pipeline engineering and data development and is explicitly focused on building a durable, well-governed data foundation.
Job ResponsibilitiesData Platform & Warehouse Operations
- Own the design, reliability, performance, and scalability of the TFA data platform, including data ingestion pipelines and warehouse infrastructure
- Ensure timely, accurate, and auditable movement of data from source systems into the TFA data warehouse
- Oversee maintenance, optimization, and enhancement of warehouse structures to support analytic and operational use cases
- Establish and enforce standards for data quality, schema management, performance, and operational resiliency
Data Ingestion & Conversion
- Lead data ingestion pipelines, including file feeds, automated loads, transformations, scheduling, monitoring, and error handling
- Oversee data conversion activities supporting system implementations, ensuring data is mapped, validated, and loaded according to defined requirements and timelines
- Partner with implementation and operational teams to align data readiness with project milestones
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Directly supervise senior technical staff, including the Senior Data Pipeline Engineer and Senior Data Developer
- Set priorities, assign work, and manage workload planning for the data platform team
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members
- Ensure appropriate documentation, knowledge transfer, and operational coverage
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for data platform issues, escalations, and operational decisions
- Collaborate with analytics, compliance, implementation, and application teams to align data structures with business needs
- Support potential integration of the reporting function (SQL and Crystal Reports development) to align reporting outputs with warehouse standards and reduce duplication of logic
Governance, Reliability, and Continuous Improvement
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and operational processes to proactively identify and resolve data issues
- Drive continuous improvement in data pipeline reliability, efficiency, and maintainability
- Support audit, compliance, and data governance requirements related to data accuracy and traceability
Skills and Qualifications- Significant experience with data platforms, data warehouses, and SQL-based data environments
- Demonstrated experience leading data ingestion pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
- Experience supervising senior technical staff and managing ongoing operational workloads
- Strong understanding of data quality, performance tuning, and operational support practices
- Experience supporting data conversion efforts related to system implementations
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-oriented environments
- Familiarity with reporting environments using SQL and Crystal Reports
- Experience with GIS systems
- Experience operating within Agile or DevOps-influenced workflows
- Position may require collaboration across multiple teams and time-sensitive issue resolution
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
- Primarily office-based with standard business hours; occasional flexibility may be required to support critical data operations.
- Some travel may be required.
Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
CompensationThe starting base salary for this Fresno, CA position is expected to be between $120,000 to $150,000 per year. Actual pay rate will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
