Full Job Description
Position Summary: As a Data Engineer, you'll help build and support the data foundation that enables data-driven decision-making across the organization. Working as part of a collaborative Data Insights Team, you'll develop and maintain data pipelines, enterprise data assets, and data solutions that support reporting, analytics, and business insights.

This role provides an opportunity to grow your technical skills across a range of business domains while working with experienced data engineers, analysts, data modelers, data governance professionals, and business stakeholders. You'll contribute to reliable, well-documented solutions and develop the judgment needed to take on broader and more complex assignments over time.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, test, deploy, and maintain data pipelines that acquire, transform, and deliver data from source systems to enterprise data platforms, with guidance on complex assignments.
  • Build and support defined components of enterprise data assets, including data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, curated datasets, and semantic-layer source tables.
  • Develop and maintain ELT/ETL processes using established patterns to support the reliable, timely, and accurate movement of data.
  • Work with business intelligence analysts, data modelers, data governance professionals, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate them into well-defined technical tasks.
  • Analyze source data and business rules to identify data quality, consistency, and usability issues; raise risks and questions promptly.
  • Implement data quality checks, monitoring, reconciliation, and validation procedures following team standards.
  • Troubleshoot routine pipeline failures, data anomalies, and production support issues; document findings and escalate complex or high-risk issues appropriately.
  • Create and maintain data structures that support reporting and analytics use cases using approved modeling standards.
  • Apply established practices for query performance, data storage, security, source control, testing, deployment, and documentation.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, project planning, effort estimation, testing, release activities, and production support.
  • Learn and apply enterprise architecture, data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements to assigned work.
  • Build knowledge of the organization's data platforms, business domains, engineering practices, and development standards.
  • Seek feedback, incorporate coaching, and share lessons learned with teammates.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data analytics, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience developing data pipelines, data integrations, database solutions, or analytics solutions; relevant internships or equivalent project experience may be considered.
  • At least 2 years of experience using SQL to query, transform, validate, and troubleshoot data.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, data warehousing concepts, and common data integration patterns.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms, data lakes, data warehouses, or lakehouse technologies preferred.
  • Experience with source control, automated testing, CI/CD, or DevOps practices preferred.
  • Experience supporting reporting, business intelligence, or self-service analytics preferred.
  • Financial services or other regulated industry experience preferred.
