Overview

Location: Onsite in Pittsburgh, PA

Job Type: Full Time/Permanent

Work Authorization: No Sponsorship

The A.C.Coy Company has an immediate need for a Data Engineer. In this role, you will architect, build, and own this transformation end-to-end.

Responsibilities

You will be the founding data engineer on this initiative. You will design and implement pipelines that unify data from 7 operational source systems
  • Design, build and operate reliable ELT ingestion pipelines using Airbyte / Fivetran or similar to pull data from all 7 operational sources into Snowflake Bronze on a nightly schedule
  • Build and maintain dbt staging models (Silver layer) that clean, deduplicate, and standardise data from all 7 sources into consistent schemas
  • Establish and enforce data contracts for each source domain - agreed schemas, null rates, acceptable value ranges, and freshness SLAs
  • Design and maintain the internal operational database
  • Build and maintain FastAPI endpoints that serve Snowflake Gold data to our internal React application - customer views, pipeline dashboards, inventory risk, margin reports
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to decouple legacy Azure SQL Managed Instance dependencies and migrate data to the new Snowflake-native environment
  • Own the end-to-end dashboard layer: from Gold model design through to published, production-grade dashboards consumed by executive and operational stakeholders

Qualifications

Education: Degree required- if no degree, then 7+ years' of experience

    • ELT
      • Experience configuring and operating Airbyte / Fivetran or similar (or equivalent) for multi-source ingestion
    • Data Warehouse/Data Lakes
    • Azure/Cloud
      • Practical experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance, Storage, and DevOps pipelines
    • Python
      • Strong Python for Data Sync Jobs, API clients, and FastAPI development
