Title:

Data Engineer

This is a contingent position based upon contract award

KBR is seeking a Data Engineer to join our team. The Data Engineer utilizes diverse data-focused skills, experience, deep technical and analytical problem-solving, and team-centered solutions for complex problems to satisfy priority information-enabling operations that involve big data, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. This position requires solid attributes for problem-solving, data analysis, troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and experimentation, often under time-sensitive decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide data engineering expertise to design and deliver data services for complete mission systems (infrastructure/platform/applications/process) solutions
  • Identify best practices for data services monitoring and management
  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, program managers, and analysts to understand capabilities of IC programs
  • Research emerging big data and data services technologies to support cloud apps and maintain cloud services
  • Establish standard policy and compliance metrics by which data management will be monitored, corrective responses issued, and reported
  • Uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms, and systems to extract insights from structured and unstructured data
  • Review performance and cybersecurity monitoring framework
  • Deliver information papers proposing emergent big data technology and best practices

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least six (6) years of experience specific to technical and programmatic integration or a related field
  • Experience with data services and big data
  • Experience in software engineering, design architecture, analyzing computer hardware and software solutions
  • Understanding of best practices regarding data management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline (STEM)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with intelligence analysis and intelligence products
  • Cloud certification (Azure or AWS)
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related STEM field

Basic Compensation:

$145,800 - $178,200 (This is for the Washington, DC Metro Area Only)

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:
