Data Engineer to design, develop, maintain, and optimize automated data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, data warehouses, and data marts supporting USDA FPAC mission reporting and analytics.
Applicant must be a permanent resident or citizen of the United States and clearable for Public Trust clearance with the U.S Government. Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and loading workflows.
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and integration services.
- Implement source-to-target mappings and business transformation logic.
- Support data warehouse and data mart development activities.
- Troubleshoot production data pipeline failures and data quality issues.
- Develop automated testing and validation checks for data movement processes.
- Support deployment, change management, and operational maintenance activities.
- Document pipeline designs, operational procedures, and technical artifacts.
Required Skills and Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or ETL development.
- Hands-on SQL and data integration experience.
- Experience with cloud or enterprise data platforms and scripting languages such as Python.
- Public Trust eligibility.
Desired Skills and Qualifications - Experience with Databricks, DataStage, SSIS, AWS, Azure, Cloudera, Tableau, or Oracle Analytics.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automated testing practices.
- USDA or federal civilian agency experience.
