What You'll Architect

As a Data Engineer Consultant (Fabric), you will architect and build modern data solutions that enable organizations to transform information into reliable, scalable, and actionable intelligence. Combining hands-on engineering with a consulting mindset, you will collaborate directly with clients to design cloud-native data platforms that deliver measurable business value.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand business objectives and translate technical requirements into scalable data solutions
  • Design, build, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines, lakehouses, and cloud data architectures using Microsoft Fabric and complementary technologies
  • Implement medallion lakehouse architectures that prioritize scalability, governance, data quality, and performance
  • Build and maintain parameterized ingestion frameworks supporting batch and near real-time data processing
  • Develop and operate CI/CD pipelines that enable reliable, automated deployments across multiple environments
  • Promote and apply Microsoft Fabric best practices, reusable patterns, and engineering standards
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, Architects, and business stakeholders to deliver integrated data solutions
  • Continuously evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements that strengthen client data ecosystems and delivery capabilities

Qualifications / Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in Data Engineering or Cloud Data Platform roles delivering end-to-end solutions
  • Experience working in client-facing consulting environments
  • Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, or cloud data certifications are considered an asset

Technical Skills
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including building and optimizing modern data pipelines
  • Experience with at least one additional cloud data platform such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Data Factory
  • Solid understanding of data warehouse, lakehouse, and modern cloud data architecture patterns
  • Experience designing and implementing medallion lakehouse architectures
  • Experience building scalable ingestion frameworks for batch and near real-time data processing
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for cloud data solutions
  • Ability to collaborate confidently with client teams while communicating technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
  • Experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery environments

  • Experience optimizing Spark workloads and distributed data processing

The expected base compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 to $110,000 CAD, depending on experience, skills, location, and internal equity. This salary range is provided as a guideline and may be adjusted for the selected candidate.
