Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to support a large-scale migration initiative focused on modernizing financial and regulatory reporting systems. This role will be responsible for rebuilding an existing on-premises SQL Server data mart within Snowflake, translating legacy SQL logic, and ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and performance throughout the migration process. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Snowflake, SQL Server, ETL/ELT development, Azure Data Factory, and Azure DevOps.

Key Responsibilities
• Migrate data from on-premises SQL Server environments to Snowflake.
• Translate and modernize existing T-SQL code into Snowflake SQL.
• Rebuild database tables, views, and associated data transformation processes within Snowflake.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, integrity, and completeness throughout migration activities.
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
• Support code deployment, release management, and promotion activities through Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Optimize data structures, queries, and transformation logic to improve performance and scalability.
• Analyze existing data models and recommend modernization opportunities.
• Validate migrated data and perform reconciliation activities to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues during migration and post-deployment phases.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, reporting teams, and technical teams to support project objectives.
• Identify risks, blockers, dependencies, and proactively communicate mitigation strategies.
• Create and maintain technical documentation related to data architecture, migration processes, and deployment procedures.
• Support critical financial and regulatory reporting systems throughout the migration lifecycle.

Required Qualifications
• Strong experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or ETL/ELT development.
• Hands-on experience migrating data from SQL Server to Snowflake.
• Advanced experience with Snowflake architecture, development, and optimization.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server and T-SQL development.
• Experience translating legacy SQL code and data transformation logic into Snowflake SQL.
• Experience designing and developing ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD deployment processes.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data transformation concepts.
• Experience validating, reconciling, and ensuring data quality during migration projects.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
