The opportunity
The Boston Bruins and TD Garden are seeking a Data Engineer to join our dynamic Data Strategy & Integrations team at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. This role will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's data infrastructure, integrations, and data warehouse environment, ensuring reliable and scalable access to critical business data across an NHL team and premier sports and entertainment venue.

This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data integrations, ETL/ELT pipelines, and automated workflows across a diverse ecosystem of business applications and data platforms. In this role, the Data Engineer will build and support scalable data pipelines, develop and optimize database structures and data models, and partner with internal stakeholders and technology vendors to onboard new data sources while ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of enterprise data. This individual will also support Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives, monitor and troubleshoot data processes, implement automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, and maintain documentation for data architecture, integrations, and workflows. The Data Engineer will play a critical role in shaping and evolving the organization's data architecture, identifying opportunities to improve scalability, reliability, and performance while supporting the long-term growth of the data ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing and supporting enterprise data warehouses, data pipelines, and system integrations in a complex business environment. They will possess strong SQL and Python skills, a deep understanding of data modeling, database design, and data architecture principles, and experience working with APIs and modern cloud-based data platforms. Pay
Minimum - Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $79,100 - $106,800 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. What will you do?
  • Design, develop, and maintain data integrations between enterprise systems and the data warehouse

  • Document data architectures, integrations, workflows, and technical processes in accordance with established standards and best practices
  • Own and maintain the organization's data architecture roadmap, recommending enhancements that improve scalability, reliability, and long-term sustainability


More about you
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or related analytical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1 - 3 years of work experience in technical environments
  • Advanced technical skillset including R, Python, SQL, with a preference for those functions at a prior employer or project within the Media, Entertainment, and Sports industry
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases as well as familiarity with a variety of database technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL, Redshift)
  • Extensive experience of ETL development, processes, and pipelines including data administration, manipulation, data pipeline engineering, data processing automation, data validation, and data preparation
  • Ability to automate data pipelines using cloud technologies such as AWS and/or GCP
  • Experience in integrating many different RESTful API's into a central data warehouse
  • Professional experience of data engineering methodologies such as data lakes, data warehouses, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze sophisticated problems and devise creative, but practical solutions
  • Ability and desire to be part of a fast-paced environment with changing projects and priorities
  • Highly resourceful and disciplined, with strong emotional intelligence and self-motivation
  • Comfort with and disciplined to manage highly sensitive confidential information
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
