Job Description:

Data Center Vertical Marketing Manager

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As the Vertical Marketing Specialist - Data Center / EBO, you will lead the global vertical marketing plan for 3M's Data Center growth ambition — with a focus on Expanded Beam Optical (EBO) solutions. You will support 3Ms growth ambitions in the Data Center vertical through messaging and positioning, demand generation, executive engagement, and customer storytelling.

You are the strategic marketing owner for the Data Center vertical, partnering with the Vertical Business team, Sales, Portfolio, Product Marketing, Integrated Marketing, and Field & Channel Marketing.

In this role, you will make an impact by:

  • Owning the global Data Center vertical marketing plan, translating vertical business priorities and growth targets into an integrated marketing agenda covering vertical messaging and positioning, campaigns, content, events, executive engagement, and customer storytelling.
  • Working with Sales and customer-facing teams to improve readiness for launches and campaigns by developing internal briefs, FAQs, email templates, talk tracks, and related enablement tools
  • Partnering with Business and Product Leaders to define Data Center messaging, positioning, value propositions, and differentiators — including buying-group engagement strategies across cloud providers, colocation providers, network equipment OEMs, and system integrators — and ensuring consistency across all customer-facing touchpoints
  • Owning the end-to-end Data Center customer journey across web, digital, events, sales, and channel touchpoints; identifying gaps and prioritizing improvements that lift engagement and conversion
  • Leading 3Ms Data Center event and thought leadership strategy across industry trade shows, conferences, and customer events.  Leads executive and SME visibility across the Data Center vertical in key channels and across events.
  • Setting demand generation targets and measurable growth goals for the vertical ($ SQL, MROI, new customer acquisition, share of voice, content hygiene >95%) and using analytics to demonstrate ROI and steer investment
  • Collaborating with Integrated Marketing on global vertical campaigns, content, and media activation aligned to Data Center business goals.
  • Partnering with Product Marketing on EBO and adjacent NPI commercialization — providing vertical context, buyer insight, and claims input to ensure relevance for the datacenter vertical.
  • Partnering with Field & Channel Marketing to translate global vertical priorities into area activation plans and channel partner programs.
  • Leading the vertical executive engagement strategy, including customer advisory boards, industry association participation, analyst relations, strategic partnership announcements, and customer advocacy / storytelling
  • Owning vertical marketing performance reporting for Data Center — pipeline contribution, MROI, campaign effectiveness, and content utilization — and driving continuous improvement based on insight
  • Governing the Data Center marketing investment, ensuring spend is prioritized against the highest-value growth plays and compliant with legal, trademark, regulatory, and brand standards
  • Building strong knowledge of the Data Center market, customer needs, competitive landscape, and 3M’s value proposition to help elevate marketing impact over time
