Job Description
Oracle is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Data Center Operator to support the operation and maintenance of Oracle-owned liquid cooling and electrical infrastructure within colocation leased data hall environments in San Antonio, Texas.
This role is focused on the day-to-day operation of liquid-cooled data halls supporting high-density compute infrastructure. The Facilities Operator will help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Oracle's technical cooling systems, electrical distribution equipment, and supporting infrastructure. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in data center facilities operations, mechanical and electrical systems, incident response, vendor coordination, and working in mission-critical environments.
This position will play a key role in supporting rack intake, rack filling, liquid cooling loop connections, CDU operations, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and incident management within active production data halls.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain Oracle-owned liquid cooling and electrical infrastructure within colocation leased data hall spaces.
Support rack intake activities, including receiving, staging, inspecting, and preparing racks for deployment into liquid-cooled data halls.
Assist with rack fill activities, including coordination of required infrastructure readiness, physical installation support, and operational checks.
Connect racks to the Technology Cooling System, TCS, loop, following approved procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Operate, monitor, and maintain Cooling Distribution Units, CDUs, including routine inspections, operational checks, alarm response, and coordination of corrective actions.
Support commissioning, startup, shutdown, isolation, and recovery activities for liquid cooling infrastructure.
Perform routine inspections of mechanical, cooling, and electrical systems supporting Oracle infrastructure within leased data halls.
Coordinate vendor support for planned maintenance, corrective work, troubleshooting, equipment repairs, and incident response.
Manage and respond to operational incidents, including triage, escalation, documentation, communication, and post-incident follow-up.
Work closely with Oracle engineering, colocation providers, network, hardware, logistics, and vendor teams to support safe and timely data hall operations.
Follow approved method of procedures, standard operating procedures, emergency operating procedures, and change management requirements.
Support root cause analysis efforts and help identify corrective actions for recurring issues or operational risks.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, incidents, vendor work, rack deployments, and infrastructure changes.
Identify safety, reliability, quality, and operational improvement opportunities within the data hall environment.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Oracle safety policies, site requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Basic Qualifications
Experience operating or maintaining data center, industrial, manufacturing, utility, central plant, or mission-critical facilities infrastructure.
Hands-on knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, such as cooling systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, CDUs, CRAHs, electrical distribution, UPS systems, PDUs, switchgear, or related infrastructure.
Ability to follow technical procedures, safety protocols, change controls, and maintenance documentation.
Experience supporting incident response, troubleshooting, escalation, and operational recovery.
Ability to coordinate work with vendors, contractors, colocation providers, and internal technical teams.
Comfortable working in active data hall environments around production IT equipment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift, carry, move, or assist with data center equipment as required by site procedures.
Willingness to support on-call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with liquid cooling infrastructure in high-density data center environments.
Experience operating or maintaining CDUs, secondary cooling loops, TCS loops, direct-to-chip cooling systems, or similar liquid cooling platforms.
Experience working in colocation data center environments.
Experience with rack deployment, rack intake, rack fill, data hall readiness, or infrastructure turnover processes.
Knowledge of leak detection systems, fluid quality management, filtration, flushing, pressure testing, and liquid cooling commissioning practices.
Experience using CMMS, DCIM, BMS, EPMS, ticketing systems, or incident management platforms.
Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, hyperscale data center operations, or large-scale compute environments.
Electrical or mechanical trade background, military technical experience, or relevant data center operations certifications.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $74,100 to $148,300 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
