Data Center MEP Engineer

The global Network & Data Center organization supports Millennium's expanding data center portfolio and critical infrastructure, with responsibility for resilient mechanical, electrical, and cooling systems that enable high-density compute environments.
What You'll Do- Lead the end-to-end design, commissioning, operation, and continuous improvement of liquid cooling infrastructure, including direct liquid cooling, cold-plate assemblies, rear-door heat exchangers, and related systems
- Develop hydraulic models, heat-load calculations, and thermal simulations to validate cooling capacity for high-density rack deployments
- Define and maintain liquid cooling distribution architecture, including cooling distribution units, manifolds, secondary loops, leak detection, and integration with chilled water or adiabatic dry-cooler plants
- Oversee the design, commissioning, lifecycle management, and maintenance of critical mechanical systems, including chillers, cooling towers, dry coolers, CRAC and CRAH units, air handling units, and humidification systems
- Support the design, review, and commissioning of critical electrical infrastructure, including UPS systems, PDUs, switchgear, generators, transfer switches, and distribution boards
- Act as Owner's Engineer for MEP capital projects, managing contractor designs, RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, costs, risks, and equipment acceptance testing
- Maintain critical-facility documentation, including MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, engineering standards, design guides, and commissioning records, while supporting change management and risk assessments
- Monitor infrastructure performance and capacity, drive efficiency improvements, support audits and compliance requirements, and report key availability, capacity, PUE, and WUE metrics to senior leadership
What You Bring- 5+ years of hands-on data center MEP engineering experience in enterprise, hyperscale, or colocation environments; experience in financial services or other mission-critical environments is a plus
- Demonstrated experience designing and commissioning at least one liquid cooling technology, including direct liquid cooling, cold-plate, rear-door heat exchanger, or immersion cooling solutions
- Strong mechanical engineering knowledge of chilled water, glycol, and refrigerant-based cooling systems, including pump sizing, pipe stress, flow analysis, cooling distribution units, secondary-loop hydraulics, and leak detection
- Working knowledge of critical electrical systems, including UPS topology, generator sizing, switchgear, PDUs, single-line diagrams, and integrated systems testing
- Experience delivering MEP capital projects from design through commissioning and operational handoff
- Familiarity with ASHRAE TC 9.9 guidelines, Uptime Institute Tier methodology, EN 50600, NFPA 70, IEC 60364, and applicable building and electrical safety requirements
- Proficiency with CAD or BIM tools such as AutoCAD or Revit MEP and thermal-modeling tools such as 6SigmaDC, Future Facilities, or comparable platforms
- Strong documentation, project coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently across global sites and travel up to 30%
The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual's experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
