Key ResponsibilitiesThe Data Center Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, modeling, and validating mechanical systems that support modern data-center deployments. This role requires deep proficiency in
CAD modeling, strong understanding of
new data-center construction, and hands-on experience with
skidded and containerized mechanical power products. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, manufacturable, and reliable mechanical solutions that support high-density compute environments.
Mechanical Design & CAD Engineering- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models for mechanical systems, assemblies, and infrastructure components used in data-center environments
- Create fabrication drawings, mechanical layouts, piping diagrams, and installation documentation for skidded and containerized systems
- Maintain design libraries, standards, and revision control for mechanical assets
- Perform tolerance analysis, fit-checks, and manufacturability reviews for complex assemblies
Data Center Construction & Infrastructure Engineering- Support mechanical design for new data-center builds, including cooling infrastructure, hydronic systems, equipment placement, and mechanical room layouts
- Collaborate with construction teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure designs meet site requirements, building codes, and operational standards
- Evaluate site conditions, climate considerations, and load requirements to ensure mechanical systems perform reliably and efficiently
Skidded & Containerized Product Development- Design and integrate mechanical systems for skidded cooling units, modular mechanical skids, and containerized data-center products
- Develop specifications for pumps, heat exchangers, filtration systems, manifolds, and structural components
- Ensure modular systems meet transport, installation, and commissioning requirements
- Work with manufacturing partners to validate assembly processes and quality standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Partner with electrical, controls, structural, and product engineering teams to ensure cohesive system integration
- Participate in design reviews, prototype evaluations, and field validation activities
- Provide mechanical expertise to support product roadmaps, new feature development, and continuous improvement initiatives
Testing, Validation & Continuous Improvement- Conduct mechanical testing, flow analysis, and performance validation for cooling systems and modular products
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, manufacturability, and efficiency across mechanical designs
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical issues in production or field deployments
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data-center mechanical engineering, industrial mechanical systems, or mission-critical infrastructure
- Advanced proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor).
- Experience with skidded mechanical systems, modular infrastructure, or containerized data-center products
- Strong understanding of data-center construction practices, mechanical codes, and industry standards
- Knowledge of cooling systems, hydronic distribution, pumps, heat exchangers, and mechanical integration
Pay RangeUSD $110,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with liquid-cooling systems (dry coolers, evaporative coolers, cooling towers, skids)
- Familiarity with CFD or thermal modeling tools.
- Experience working with fabrication shops, OEMs, or modular-construction vendors
- Ability to interpret structural drawings, electrical layouts, and controls schematics
