Job Summary

Data Center/Hardware Engineer

Location: Dallas, TX

Experience: 7 to 10 years

Salary : $90k/annum

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer with broad knowledge of computer and data center hardware and the ability to perform onsite troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with servers, storage, networking equipment, peripherals, and related infrastructure in a hands-on environment. Willingness to learn and "can do" team attitude can be substituted for some technical requirements below. .

Hybrid, predominantly home remote near location.

Frequent travel required to:

Carrollton, TX

Chandler, AZ

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues across a variety of systems and devices
  • Perform onsite installation, replacement, and configuration of hardware components
  • Diagnose failures in servers, workstations, storage devices, NICs, memory, motherboards, power supplies, and cabling
  • Work with vendors and support teams to resolve hardware incidents and service requests
  • Support hardware upgrades, refreshes, and migrations and planning of the same
  • Validate equipment readiness, connectivity, and basic functionality after installation or repair
  • Maintain documentation for asset changes, repairs, and site work performed
  • Coordinate with IT, storage, networking, and systems teams as needed
  • Follow change control, safety, and site access procedures


Required Qualifications
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting computer hardware and/or data center hardware
  • Understanding of common hardware components and their functions
  • Data Center security awareness
  • High awareness of team communication and information sharing
  • Willingness to read manuals and learn unfamiliar hardware as needed
  • Ability and patience in working with remote teams following direction
  • Experience with server platforms, storage systems, networking hardware, and cabling
  • Familiarity with basic BIOS/UEFI
  • Problem-solving and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel frequently between Dallas-Fort Worth, Carrollton, and Chandler, AZ


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco, EMC, NetApp, or similar hardware platforms
  • Experience supporting virtualization or enterprise infrastructure environments
  • Knowledge of iDRAC, iLO, IMM, or other remote management tools
  • Experience working with service tickets and vendor support cases
  • Willing to get involved with hardware planning and scheduling
  • Equipment and tools organization and security consciousness
  • Physical / Onsite Requirements
  • Ability to travel frequently between sites as required (Air, hotel, rental car)
  • Ability to lift and move hardware equipment when required
  • Willingness to work in data center or office environments
  • Ability to follow safety and operational procedures during onsite tasks


The pay range for this role is $85,000 - $90,000* per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
