About the role:

The "Associate Program Manager" assists the Front End Planning team in managing global Data Center program upgrade/retrofit projects. The Associate Program Manager is responsible for supporting the program requirements development, engaging with internal customers, completing individual tasks, and supporting the program through the entire project lifecycle.

What you'll need:

Support multiple program managers leading the upgrades/retrofit program process administration across the data center portfolio. Focus is on ability to balance multiple independent activities concurrently and manage time effectively

Ability to work independently as well as effectively collaborate. Thrive in an innovative environment, adapt to and manage frequent change, think analytically, and demonstrate leadership skills. Troubleshoot and resolve sophisticated issues and administrative problems.

Provide end-to-end support to Front End Planning Team

Collaborate with large cross-functional teams comprised of Design Vendors, Contractors, Schedulers, Project Controls, Document Controls, Safety, Security, and Logistics

Develop initial program budgets based on benchmarks and direction from program managers

May take notes for cross-functional team meetings and lead meetings in absence of program managers

Engage with technical experts and key collaborators to develop and revise program documents

Work with the technical experts and key team members to continually improve communications between the cross-function teams

Draft program reporting with direction from program managers, including providing health of program schedule, budget, and performance, identifying key risks and program opportunities

Support team in updating quarterly forecasts and budget spend status

Develop plans for improved field execution and delivery across project constraints of schedule, efficiency, and costs

Apply Owner's program management processes, software, systems, and tracking tools

Assist program managers in scheduling program meetings

Support program team in developing program plans, including crafting and establishing the:

1. Master Project Timeline, based on the Critical Path and key achievements

2. Master Project Budget, including soft costs and hard costs

Evaluate technical issues and develop potential solutions for review with key collaborators

Supports Design Team activities by participating in schematic and design development reviews

Support Data Center site teams as needed with contractor pre-qualification, bid solicitation, bid analysis and recommendations

Participates in constructability reviews of the project documents

Assist in developing, assessing, and evaluating program and project risks

Draft or equivalent experience Stage Gate Checklists. The APM will collect documents and fill out the Stage Gate 1 Checklist for review with the program team

Participate in owner's and contractor's construction progress meetings. Track action items and coordinate with key collaborators to ensure delivery on commitments

Establish and maintain lessons learned log for programs. Incorporate key project lessons into the program log

Ensure program level document control processes are in place

Ensure QA/QC is being followed and report any issues/gaps

Establish program close out documentation requirements and distribute to site teams
What you'll do:

  • Demonstrated skills in requirements gathering, task prioritization, scheduling and achieving objectives on schedule and within budget Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in one of the following:
  • Business Administration
  • Construction Management
  • Project Management
  • Engineering Recommended experience:
  • Technical Project Management or Coordination
  • Experience with construction related to data center construction or heavy industrial work involving complex mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry
  • Standard business applications and tools • Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Drawings, Hangouts, etc. • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Scheduling application: Primavera P6 is an advantage

Turner & Townsend carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $120,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $140,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on Turner & Townsend's applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
