If you thrive in fast-paced, highly technical settings and enjoy solving complex engineering challenges while partnering with cross-functional teams, this role provides a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on large-scale data center operations.

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate is a collaborative and forward-thinking engineering professional who is passionate about designing and improving critical infrastructure environments. They are naturally curious, highly analytical, and comfortable navigating complex technical challenges while balancing operational and business priorities.

This individual communicates effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from engineers and contractors to operations teams and leadership. They take ownership of projects, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and are committed to delivering reliable, scalable solutions that support long-term operational success.

Key characteristics include:
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple disciplines and teams
  • A proactive, results-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence
  • Comfort working in dynamic, mission-critical environments
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core Responsibilities

Power & Electrical Infrastructure
  • Design, implement, and optimize data center power distribution systems, including UPS systems, PDUs, switchgear, generators, and grounding infrastructure.
  • Develop and validate redundancy models to support high-availability environments.
  • Partner with design consultants and contractors to review electrical designs, load studies, and commissioning plans.

Network Infrastructure
  • Support integration of physical network infrastructure, including switches, structured cabling systems, patch panels, and fiber/copper connectivity.
  • Collaborate with network engineering teams on facility layout standards and cable management strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related networking issues.

Construction & Commissioning
  • Support data center construction projects from design review through commissioning and operational turnover.
  • Coordinate activities among electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, and industry standards.

Deployment Operations & Logistics
  • Develop standards and guidelines for rack installation, power provisioning, structured cabling, and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Support deployment activities, facility walkthroughs, and operational incident response efforts.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, including MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, facility drawings, and deployment standards.
  • Partner with operations teams to conduct root cause analyses and implement reliability improvements.
  • Prepare functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience designing and supporting data center power distribution systems and electrical redundancy architectures.
  • Knowledge of high-availability facility designs, including N, N+1, and 2N configurations.
  • Experience with network switches, structured cabling systems, fiber and copper infrastructure, and cable management best practices.
  • Background supporting data center construction projects, commissioning activities, and contractor/vendor coordination.
