HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Data Analytics Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping advance the goals of GBCI Certification Team. In this role, you will serve as a data champion and advance the performance-oriented culture by delivering business intelligence that instills connections between data and decisions throughout the organization.

You'll report to the GBCI Director of Certification Operations and be part of a highly collaborative team environment where your contributions will help shape impactful outcomes. You'll work closely with the USGBC Data and Finance teams to gather insights and support GBCI's core business operations and information systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop expert-level understanding of GBCI Certification operations and create solutions for data infrastructure to enhance monitoring and analysis.
  • Collaborate across teams to align data engineering efforts with GBCI Certification and organizational goals.
  • Design, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines for data integration, quality improvement, and effective governance.
  • Contribute to cross-department projects to build robust data infrastructure supporting GBCI Certification and process optimization.
  • Communicate progress on data projects to stakeholders and develop resources like factsheets and presentations.
  • Support LEED evolution by integrating data infrastructure with reporting frameworks (e.g., GRESB, SASB).
  • Enhance business intelligence by designing decision-support systems integrated with GBCI's data warehouse.
  • Define, build, and automate business processes through data solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Assist with business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting via data infrastructure that enhances reporting capabilities.
  • Oversee data quality assurance and serve as the data steward for the GBCI certification team, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, clarity, and consistency.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of data engineering, business intelligence, analytics, database administration, data visualization, or related experience required.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred) in Business, Data/Computer Science, or other related analytic or information technology discipline.

Technology/System(s)
  • Spotfire, Power BI, and/or other data visualization platforms
  • Experience working with SQL databases required
  • Snowflake
  • Power Automate
  • Excel VBA
  • Asana

Skills
  • Demonstrated passion and commitment to the USGBC and GBCI mission.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; Python programming experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma and PMP or other project management methodologies is preferred.
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility, accountability, and high-quality work ethic.
  • Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong written and verbal communication skills.


Certifications
  • LEED Green Associate or Sustainability Excellence Associate required (or within one year of hire)

Salary

Final compensation and benefits will be confirmed at the time of offer and may vary based on factors such as internal equity, relevant experience, qualifications, and employment status. Please note that salary negotiations will not extend beyond the top of the internal salary range.
