Full Job Description

Job Summary:

Independence American Insurance Company (IAIC) is seeking a Data Analyst who will support the build-out of Earnix rates, rules and rate order calculations.  Additionally, they will perform statistical modeling and analysis of structured and unstructured datasets to develop metrics, reports, and visualizations of trends and patterns.

Job Location: Hybrid – New York City, NY or Scottsdale, AZ

 

Main Responsibilities:

Rate Deployment & Online Execution (Primary Focus)

  • Own the end‑to‑end actuarial rate deployment process within the Earnix environment, from approval readiness through to successful release of rates.
  • Deploy pricing versions (rules, models, and rates) from the analytical environment into production using Earnix Online Execution.

Validation, Controls & Governance

  • Perform pre‑deployment actuarial validation.
  • Review and approve deployment summaries generated by Earnix.
  • Maintain audit traceability across versions, approvals, and deployment events to support regulatory and internal governance requirements.

Environment & Release Management

  • Coordinate deployment activities across environments (Analytical, Staging/UAT, Production), supporting UAT sign‑off and controlled production releases.
  • Participate in release planning for pricing changes
  • Act as the actuarial interface with IT, change management, and policy administration teams during rate releases—while retaining actuarial ownership of pricing logic.

Ongoing Production Support

  • Monitor post‑deployment performance by reviewing live rating behavior and address production issues.
  • Support rapid corrective redeployments where required, leveraging Earnix’s business‑owned deployment capability to minimize time‑to‑market.

Data Analysis

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to understand and define business requirements for operational and analytical reports.
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Performs data cleansing, validation, and document data definitions. Establishes business rules and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of reports.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains interactive dashboards, visualizations, and reports using business intelligence tools.
  • Uses analytics and metrics to improve processes and provide data-driven forecasts of potential costs, risks, and profiles of new business initiatives.
  • Queries and manipulates data using SQL to extract and transform data from databases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ad-hoc data analysis requests.
  • Presents findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (One-year relevant experience is equivalent to one-year college)
  • 3 years’ relevant experience
