Job DescriptionJob Title: Data Analyst II/III/IV- Asset Management Support: Transmission ReliabilityAbout the Opportunity:
This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.
The position reports to the Supervisor, Transmission Reliability in the AMRC Asset Management Support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging advanced statistical modeling to support reliability improvement initiatives. This includes but is not limited to predicting equipment failure impacts, weather impacts and predicting future reliability based on asset health, system maintenance and capital investment. The candidate will have strong communication and consultation skills to understand business needs across the organization. Ability to translate data into meaningful business models and leverage predicative analytics to support reliability initiatives.
Responsibilities include:- Querying large amounts of data from iTOA, OPPM, and other data sources, interpreting the data and analyzing results using advanced statistical techniques.
- Performing advanced analytics using linear regression, machine learning, and other quantitative methods forecast future trends and outcomes that lead to insights to improve transmission reliability.
- Collaborate with Power Delivery, IT and business stakeholders to streamline access and build customized products.
- Develop reports using platforms such as Oracle BIP, Toad Database, RapidMiner, Python, and other tools such as Power Bl.
- Support data governance structure and adherence by leading technical validation and testing for transmission of reliability data and systems.
- Develop tools and processes that provide visibility to key stakeholders and support improvement in FE transmission reliability.
- Working across Power Delivery and Operational Excellence to ensure effective and consistent reporting and analysis.
- Supporting NERC, NATF and other industry working groups associated with transmission reliability data recording, analysis, and reporting.
- Conducting business specific research and ad hoc data analysis - obtaining data, interpreting results, and communicating findings to provide insights that reduce reliability risk, optimize investments, and improve transmission reliability.
- Delivering quality and accurate work within established deadlines.
- Providing storm support, as needed, including off-hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel may be required at times across the FirstEnergy system.
Qualifications include:- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field with minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in processing, manipulating, and generating insight from large data sets of structured and unstructured data.
- Experience in the implementation of complex programs and projects.
- Knowledge of statistical methods, predictive modeling techniques, and data mining algorithms is highly valuable.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
- Knowledge of FE systems: iTOA, OPPM, GIS, Cascade, EMS, SAP, and PI are preferred.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels of FirstEnergy to aid and resolve problems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong analytical ability are required. Ability to effectively present complex subject matter to all levels of management.

FirstEnergy takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. In addition, your actual base salary will depend on various factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience.The estimated pay range for this role is $68,425-$139,800. The pay range for certain locations, including the state of New Jersey, include a 20% differential to account for an increased cost of living, making the pay range $82,110- $167,760.
