Position Description: CGI is seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable data solutions within a fast paced financial services environment. This role is responsible for building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, optimizing data processing workflows, and ensuring the integrity and quality of enterprise data. Working closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and development teams, the engineer will translate business requirements into technical solutions that support reporting, analytics, and operational needs. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Python, SQL, and AWS data services, along with experience in Agile delivery and production support.
This role is located at a client site in either Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . 5+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, or a related data focused engineering role.
. Experience working in cloud based AWS environments is strongly preferred. Strong hands on experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL.
. Advanced SQL skills, including complex query development, performance tuning, stored procedures, and database optimization.
. Experience working with AWS data technologies such as AWS Lambda, Amazon Redshift, Apache Iceberg, Amazon Glacier, and other cloud native data services.
. Solid understanding of data warehousing, relational database design, and Business Intelligence (BI) concepts.
. Experience performing source to target mapping, data validation, and data quality testing to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
. Ability to troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long term solutions.
. Experience creating technical documentation, including data mappings, design documents, data dictionaries, and operational procedures.
. Comfortable working in Agile teams, participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand ups, and retrospectives.
. Familiarity with JIRA for managing user stories, defects, and project tracking.
. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
Education:
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
. Relevant AWS certifications (such as AWS Certified Data Engineer - Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate) are a plus but not required.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $68,300.00 $110,100.00.
