Job Summary

This role supports a variety of technical duties associated with the retrieval, processing, validation, and editing of TFS safety, commissioning, maintenance, and reliability data. The person in this role will work closely with both field and office teams to create metrics based on the retrieved data. This is a good opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys working with data, communicating clearly, and helping turn information into something others can use.

What you'll do:

Essential Job Functions & Tasks
  • Gather and organize data for metrics and reporting
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of analytics platforms, including Microsoft Power BI, Excel, Cognos, and various databases
  • Develop and apply a working knowledge of NERC reliability standards to support compliance reporting, tracking, and analytics.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reports, and analytics that enable proactive decision-making across reliability, safety, work execution, and asset performance programs.
  • Collaborate with field teams, subject matter experts, and leadership to ensure data is accurate, reliable, and translated into actionable insights that reflect operational activities.
  • Ensure data integrity by validating, investigating, and resolving data quality issues, and maintaining audit-ready analytics.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights using data storytelling techniques, and present findings effectively to both leadership and individual contributors to support informed decision-making.
  • Recommend process improvements to TFS subject matter experts by developing, updating or implementing procedures to enhance data integrity and analytics effectiveness
  • Familiarize oneself with TFS supervision and management structure across all Transmission regions to ensure comprehensive support
  • Design and deliver metrics training for TFS personnel as needed to promote utilization and analytics proficiency
  • Help consolidate input from multiple groups into one clear plan or update
  • Present data and findings in a clear, easy-to-understand way

Education requirements are listed below:
  • Associate's degree in mathematics, statistics, operations research, engineering, business, or a related technical discipline with two years of experience, or
  • High school diploma/GED with four years of experience in an analytical or technical field, or
  • A bachelor's degree in business information technology or one of the fields listed above is preferred and may not require previous experience.

Work Experience requirement noted above.

Other preferences:
  • Experience with data transformation and visualization tools such as Power BI preferred; Tableau and other BI tools are also acceptable
  • Strong presentation skills and comfort speaking with different groups
  • Ability to explain data in plain language
  • Background in a data-related field preferred; communications majors may be considered if paired with math or engineering coursework
  • Early-career candidates encouraged to apply
  • Comfortable working in a changing environment with multiple priorities
  • Strong collaboration skills in a matrixed organization
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage several requests at once
  • SharePoint experience is a plus
  • Minimal travel expected
  • Occasional flexible hours may be needed
  • Preferred location: New Albany or nearby
