Full Job Description
Winstead PC is seeking a 2-5 year attorney for a position within its Entitlements, Land Use, and Land Use Litigation practice, which is part of the firm's industry-leading Real Estate Development & Investments practice group in Dallas. We are seeking an associate with experience in complex litigation. Experience with and knowledge of local governmental entities and political processes is helpful, as is appellate experience. This will be a dual-role that includes both transactional land use (e.g. rezonings and development agreements) and land use litigation representations of real estate developers and investors in seeking entitlements from local governmental entities for new development projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: 1. Litigation Experience: Experience in drafting motions and briefs, preparing cases for depositions, court hearings, and trial, and conducting complex legal research. Additionally, candidates must have experience in drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and document review in business litigation matters. 2. Required Skills: Candidates must have a history of projects requiring organization, attention to detail, and great writing skills. 3. Strong academics: Candidates should have strong academic credentials. 4. Writing skills: Candidates should be proficient at complex legal drafting and client communication.
