As the ISSO, you will serve as the primary cybersecurity advisor for assigned information systems, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of mission-critical systems and data. You will provide guidance on cybersecurity and information assurance requirements, ensuring security controls are properly implemented and aligned with DoD policies, system architectures, and network configurations.
Key Responsibilities
The ISSO will:
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), cybersecurity, cyber engineering, and information assurance
- Provide technical guidance and actionable recommendations to senior leadership to support cybersecurity objectives and mission success
- Communicate complex technical and security concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Identify cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance issues, implementing proactive solutions to minimize operational impact
- Support the implementation, assessment, and maintenance of RMF security controls throughout the system lifecycle
- Collaborate with program management, engineering, and cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with DoD security policies and mission requirements
- Support government and industry program activities, including occasional travel to customer and contractor locations as required
- Work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while contributing to continuous process improvement and mission success
Requirements
Skills and Experience
The ISSO must have:
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility; must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance and successfully complete a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph as a condition of employment
- 10+ years of Department of Defense (DoD) experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or information systems security
- 4+ years of experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environments within the past five years
- 1+ year of experience implementing and supporting DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) security controls, cybersecurity policies, and compliance requirements
- Relevant professional experience and industry certifications may be substituted for a bachelor's degree, as applicable
Education and Certifications
The ISSO must meet the following:

- Master's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, MIS, Engineering, or a related field
- SecurityX / CASP+, equivalent or higher to meet DoDM 8140.03

Security Clearance
Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
