Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team in

Position SummaryPACCAR Embedded Engineering is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support Kenworth and Peterbilt vehicle platforms. In this role, you will work with cross-functional engineering teams to help develop, implement, and validate cybersecurity solutions for electronic control units (ECUs), vehicle networks, and connected vehicle systems.
The successful candidate will support cybersecurity activities throughout the product development lifecycle, including risk assessment, requirements development, testing, and issue resolution. This position provides an opportunity to collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, suppliers, and cybersecurity professionals to deliver secure and reliable vehicle systems.
Job Functions / Responsibilities- Support threat analysis, risk assessments, and cybersecurity reviews.
- Define and maintain cybersecurity requirements and validation criteria.
- Execute cybersecurity verification and validation activities.
- Perform testing of CAN/J1939 networks, secure boot, secure flashing, authentication, encryption, and diagnostic access controls.
- Investigate cybersecurity issues and support root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers to implement cybersecurity requirements.
- Review supplier cybersecurity deliverables and support compliance efforts.
- Support vehicle integration, product launches, field investigations, and process improvements.
Qualifications & SkillsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with standard business software tools.
- Ability to learn new technologies and engineering practices.
- Ability to travel up to 10%, including occasional international travel.
Preferred
- Experience with embedded systems, cybersecurity, software development, or automotive electronics.
- Familiarity with CAN, J1939, UDS, Automotive Ethernet, or similar protocols.
- Experience with cybersecurity testing and validation.
- Knowledge of authentication, encryption, secure boot, and secure software updates.
- Experience with Python, CANoe, CANalyzer, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with ISO/SAE 21434 and commercial vehicle systems.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Advanced degree and/or cybersecurity certifications.

Additional Job Board InformationThe salary range for the Cybersecurity Engineer is $80,800 - $120,800 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for a full range of benefit options listed above. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
