Description

ALEX - Alternative Experts is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to support the security, compliance, and risk management of enterprise systems within a federal environment. This role is responsible for maintaining system security posture, supporting cybersecurity frameworks, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and operational requirements. The position requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, the ability to assess and mitigate risks, and experience working within structured compliance environments.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting federal or DoD cybersecurity environments
  • Familiarity with RMF, ATO processes, and security authorization packages
  • Experience working with enterprise systems, network security, or cloud environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailApply cybersecurity principles to protect information systems, networks, and data
  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, including assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Maintain and update system security documentation in accordance with government standards
  • Monitor system activity to detect, analyze, and respond to potential security incidents
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and operational requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a regulated environment with defined security controls and procedures
Training / Certifications (required alignment to DoDM 8140.03):
Candidates must possess certification(s) in one or more of the following categories:
  • IAT Level I (Information Assurance Technical):
    • A+, Network+, SSCP, or CCNA-Security
  • IAM Level I (Information Assurance Management):
    • CAP, GSLC, or Security+ CE
  • Cyber Defense (preferred but strongly valued):
    • CEH, GCIA, CSIH, or GCIH
  • Operating System / Computing Environment Certification:
    • Relevant OS/CE certification for systems requiring privileged access
Education :
  • Associate degree from an accredited institution;
  • OR Certification aligned with CNSSI 4011 Information System Security (INFOSEC) Professional;
  • OR Minimum of 3 years of relevant cybersecurity experience
