Full Job Description

Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers.

The Cyberspace Combat Department (CCD) resides within ISCD and focuses on critical cyber research, development, and rapid prototyping in the areas of Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO), Offensive Cyber Operations (OCO), Reverse Engineering, Exploit Development, and Spacecraft Security. We support a variety of customers including the Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC), the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), and other civil customers (e.g. NASA) to resolve unique challenges in implementation and research.  We are looking for a Project Lead to support SSC with Cyber Test.  Candidates should be familiar with the Cybersecurity Test and Evaluation Guidebook and have experience with leading projects.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA. 100% onsite

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead a diverse team of FFRDC, USG, SETA, and SE&I with Cyber Test planning for all ground and space systems
  • Directly support the Program Office customers with system security engineering and managing the test infrastructure, resources, and personnel for project taskings
  • Identify, integrate, validate, and verify cyber test requirements to ensure DoD Development Test and Evaluation (DT&E) compliance
  • Review of cybersecurity test procedures for requirements satisfaction, including participation in Test Readiness Review activities and test events
  • Comprehensively and effectively communicate test-event results and key findings to Senior leadership, along with the technical recommended closure plans
  • Proactively engage all stakeholders to ensure cyber test is implemented throughout the acquisition lifecycle and process

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for the Project Leader - Cyber Security Architecture and Information Systems Security

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or in Information Security/Technology, Computer Science, or related subject area.
  • 8 years of relevant experience in a position related to cybersecurity, systems engineering, software development, embedded systems, or similar fields.
  • Experience planning, leading, and executing Cyber Tabletop events
  • Experience defining and analyzing threat/vulnerability likelihood, coupled with mission impact to determine risk
  • Background utilizing one or more programming languages including but not limited to C, C++, Java, Python, or Rust.
  • Specialized knowledge of satellite system design and technology.
  • Willingness to travel to work location or customer site approx. 20% of the time, if required.
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

  • Advanced degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or engineering.
  • Holds one or more industry standard cybersecurity certifications (such as CISSP, OSCP, GMON, SEC+)
  • Proven experience using the SPARTA / MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • Expert with bash, shell, PowerShell, and basic scripting on Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Current and active TS/SCI clearance
