Full Job Description
The Cyber Security Engineer supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of the cybersecurity program. Working under the direction of the Cyber Security Project Manager, the analyst performs cybersecurity assessments of digital systems and engineering design documentation, contributes to the development of cybersecurity procedures and technical documentation, and supports the integration of cybersecurity requirements into engineering and project activities. The position collaborates with engineering disciplines, vendors, and project stakeholders to promote secure system design and regulatory compliance.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform cybersecurity assessments of engineering design documentation, digital systems, and related technical documentation to identify cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities, threat vectors, and appropriate security controls.
  • Support the integration of cybersecurity requirements and security controls into system design, engineering, and project activities.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of cybersecurity procedures, technical reports, assessments, and program documentation.
  • Evaluate engineering designs and technical documentation for compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Research cybersecurity technologies, emerging threats, and evolving industry guidance to support program objectives.
  • Maintain cybersecurity documentation and records in accordance with established configuration management and quality assurance processes.
  • Coordinate with engineering organizations, vendors, and project stakeholders to support cybersecurity program activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Internship, co-op, academic research, project-based experience, or up to 2 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, information technology, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, including threat identification, vulnerability assessment, risk management, and security controls.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, operating systems, and digital system architectures.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISA/IEC 62443, or similar industry guidance.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, engineering drawings, system diagrams, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard business software tools.


  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity assessments or security compliance initiatives.
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems (ICS), operational technology (OT), or engineering environments.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, assessments, or cybersecurity documentation.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements within highly regulated industries such as energy, nuclear, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure.
  • Experience working with engineering teams, project stakeholders, or technology vendors to support secure system design and implementation.


Compensation:
  • Annual compensation based on skills and experience ranging from $105,000 to $125,000
