Job Description

This Cyber Architect candidate is responsible for ensuring that cyber security requirements are properly defined, decomposed, allocated, assessed, and implemented into a system architecture to produce a cyber-resilient security design solution for the target platform (Air System or Weapon System). This includes participating in working groups, design reviews, and formal artifact reviews alongside other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the overall platform; and providing security expertise to ensure that cyber security is considered early in the product development lifecycle.
This applicant is expected to lead a range of cyber risk analysis and security assessment methods; identify and define appropriate mitigations to address cyber vulnerabilities, feature changes, or obsolescence; develop documentation for specific installations and configurations necessary to obtain Authorizations to Operation (ATOs) in support of program schedules; and drive Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs) to mitigate open cyber risks.
This applicants efforts will align to the technical execution of a range of model-based engineering initiatives, including interpreting existing documentation and technical inputs to develop models, and conducting experiments with cutting edge technology/processes to drive rigor and digital engineering transformation in our Aeronautics Programs of Record. Likewise, the applicant will support the building of relationships and partnerships with leading DoD technology performers to capitalize on unique skillsets and capability offerings that drive efficiencies and effectiveness in our products and any follow-on new business capture.
The ideal candidate will communicate effectively with a range of audiences, technical and non-technical, and will function effectively on an engineering team to create a collaborative environment that allows for the establishment of mission goals, itemized planning of tasks, and prioritization of tasks that drives the efficient execution of objectives.

Must be a US citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a secret clearance updated within the last 5 years to be considered.

Basic Qualifications

B.S. degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Security, or Information Technology - or equivalent applied experience.

3+ years of experience in Systems Engineering

4+ years of experience with System and/or Security Architecture

Desired skills

Experience utilizing Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG), Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) 1253, and NIST SP 800-37 Risk Management Framework (RMF) to design and harden information systems commensurate with customer needs

Experience executing Systems Engineering processes (i.e., requirements management, requirements decomposition, system modeling, integration & test)

Experience analyzing, decomposing, and allocating system architectures, requirements, and models

Experience ensuring that cyber security requirements are properly defined, decomposed, allocated, assessed, and implemented into a system architecture to produce a cyber-resilient security design solution for the target platform

Prior software engineering / development experience for embedded platforms

Experience with engineering change processes and/or configuration control processes
IASAE Level II - IAW 8570 or higher certification (CASP+ CE, CISSP, CSSLP)

Experience with Agile project management tools (JIRA, VersionOne, etc.)

Experience developing security architecture representations (e.g. Accreditation Boundaries, Physical Diagrams, Logical Diagrams, Functional Diagrams, and Rack Layouts), system design modeling (UML, SysML, Rhapsody, Cameo, MagicDraw), as well as requirements management

Experience performing vulnerability analysis, using automated assessment tools, and identifying risks and mitigations

Experience with the development and sustainment of real-time embedded systems (avionics systems or similar)
Experience with Real-Time Embedded Operating Systems (e.g. GreenHills INEGRITY, LynxOS, VxWorks, Yocto)

Background/knowledge working with information systems/environments that utilize the Open Mission Systems (OMS) standard and Universal Command and Control Standards Initiative (UCI) message set

Experience conducting technical trade studies, experiments, and assessments

Expertise/knowledge in both compliance testing and penetration testing methodologies

Experience developing certification test procedures (CTPs) and executing customer witnessed security assessments utilizing NIST 800-53A assessment methods

Experience with Anti-tamper

Experience with crypto/key management

Experience with creating and presenting technical information to senior-level executives and customers
Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent communication skills (written and verbal communications)
and have the ability to work in a dynamic work environment

Experience working in an aerospace design environment with exposure to DoD customers and their accrediting authorities

Must be willing to mentor junior-level team members

Ability to travel as required

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,200 - $225,975. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement
