As a CWMD Planner at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Serve as an Agency countering WMD (CWMD) planner providing strategy, policy, doctrine and planning expertise. Accomplishes broad analytical efforts upon which DTRA and the Plans & Programs Department develop plans, strategy, and doctrine, as well as programs, policies, procedures and systems determinations related to military CWMD missions and national security strategies.
- Develop, plan, prepare, coordinate, staff, and presents DTRA, directorate, and department positions on CWMD-related campaign plans affecting the OSW, JS, CCMDs, DoW Components, Military Services, and Defense Agencies.
- Independently plan and complete projects principally related to Joint Staff, CCMD, and DTRA operations, activities, and initiatives requiring significant research and analysis. Prepare and present decision papers, briefing materials, speeches, and correspondence for senior officials within DTRA, DoW and/or JS, and the US Government lnteragency.
- Conduct/support special projects, compartmented plans, and assignments to assist in the overall accomplishment of DTRA mission requirements. Conduct critical research and analysis for highly sensitive or controversial projects that will establish a significant Agency precedent and involve divergent and conflicting views from principal stakeholders. Develop appropriate implementation plans, and prepares, coordinates, staffs, and presents DTRA positions with respect to these projects.

- Position requires final Top Secret, based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). The position also requires access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). SSBI must be favorably completed or updated within the last five years.
- May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include compensatory time for overtime.
- The employee must be willing to comply with each Combatant Commands' travel medical requirement to include vaccinations.

QualificationsYou may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
- Experience developing contingency and/or campaign related plans on a combatant command, defense agency, Joint Staff, Military Service Headquarters, or equivalent level staff;
- Experience analyzing, researching, and/or developing strategy, doctrine, programs, and procedures related to military CWMD missions and national security strategies;
- Experience researching suspected problem areas, identifying key variables or factors, and developing practical and innovative recommendations based on knowledge of the organization's long and short term goals;
- Knowledge of US national strategy to include the DoW Strategy to Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD), CWMD plans, programs, intelligence, doctrine, policy and USG actors to include OSW, Joint Staff, CCMDs, Military Services and the Service components of CCMDs, and Defense/Combat Support Agencies, and;
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to prepare and present major staff studies, fact sheets, and executive-level decision briefs, as well as to articulate and negotiate complex issues with senior leadership and external partners.
