Overview
The CHB Supervisor is responsible for analyze associated customs documentation and polices for regulatory compliance. Review and enforce goods classifications and associated tariff codes. Report customs regulations violations to appropriate agencies. Service our clients and suppliers providing top tier customer service. Supervise day-to-day customs brokerage operations and staff. Support transition and retention of customers.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to, train, and advise team in areas of Customs Brokerage Regulations. Monitor team performance against company standards and department goals; regular audit of shipment documents and accounting.
- Monitor problem files and implement corrective action when needed. Issue work instructions to team members to ensure timely and orderly file flow including release, billing, and auditing
- Document review and assessment of accuracy, verifying country of origin/export, IOR, terms of sale and value to ensure that compliance and federal regulation requirements are achieved.
- Daily follow-up on documentation discrepancy issues which requires the ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers and foreign origins.
- Escalate any unresolved issues or risks before they materially impact AIT.
- Remain informed on changes with CBP and other government agencies.
- Ensure all team members are cross trained and that each client has a primary and backup CSRs are assigned. Create SOPs and transitioning new clients within the team
- Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary.
- The wage range for this position is $72,840.00-$109,260.00 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience

Other Skills We Hope to See:
- At least 5 years of brokerage experience
- At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience
- Customs Brokerage License Required
- Well rounded knowledge of the HTSUS
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organized
- Demonstrated ability to be pro-active in thought and action
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Willing to pitch in and help on last minute projects or assist team members
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Undergraduate Degree Preferred
