Job Summary
The Customer Domain Architect is responsible for defining and governing the enterprise customer domain strategy, architecture, and roadmap across business and technology functions. This role serves as the subject matter expert for customer data, customer onboarding, Customer 360 capabilities, customer master data management (MDM), customer lifecycle management, and customer-centric integrations. The architect will partner with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, data leaders, application teams, and integration teams to establish a single, trusted view of the customer while enabling scalable, secure, and efficient customer experiences across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and maintain the enterprise customer domain architecture and target-state roadmap.
• Establish domain principles, standards, and best practices for customer data management and customer-related business capabilities.
• Align customer domain initiatives with business objectives, digital transformation programs, and enterprise architecture strategies.
• Develop reference architectures and capability models supporting customer-centric business processes.
• Design and oversee Customer 360 solutions that provide a unified view of customer information across systems and channels.
• Define strategies for customer identity resolution, customer profile consolidation, and customer data enrichment.
• Support customer analytics, segmentation, personalization, and customer engagement initiatives.
• Ensure customer information is accessible, accurate, and actionable across business functions.
• Lead the design, implementation, and governance of customer master data solutions.
• Define customer data models, canonical models, hierarchies, reference data standards, and ownership structures.
• Establish data quality frameworks, stewardship processes, and data governance controls.
• Drive initiatives to improve customer data consistency, completeness, and accuracy across enterprise platforms.
• Architect end-to-end customer onboarding processes across digital and operational channels.
• Define customer lifecycle capabilities including acquisition, onboarding, servicing, retention, and offboarding.
• Identify process optimization opportunities that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
• Ensure customer lifecycle processes comply with regulatory, risk, and security requirements.
• Design enterprise integration patterns supporting customer-related systems and platforms.
• Define APIs, event-driven architectures, and data exchange standards for customer data movement.
• Collaborate with application and integration teams to ensure consistent customer data synchronization across systems.
• Support cloud, hybrid, and SaaS integration strategies involving CRM, ERP, marketing, service, and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with business leaders, product owners, data governance teams, and technology stakeholders.
• Establish customer domain governance frameworks, architecture review processes, and data ownership models.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide guidance on customer-domain-related initiatives.
• Mentor solution architects and engineering teams on customer domain standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, data architecture, or domain architecture roles.
• 5+ years of experience focused on customer data, customer master data management, Customer 360, CRM, or customer lifecycle solutions.
• Deep expertise in customer onboarding processes and customer-related business capabilities.
• Strong understanding of customer data governance, data quality, data stewardship, and MDM frameworks.
• Experience designing enterprise integration architectures and API-based solutions.
• Experience working with cross-functional business and technology teams in large enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Customer 360, MDM, or customer data platforms such as Informatica MDM, Reltio, Profisee, Semarchy, Salesforce Data Cloud, Microsoft Fabric, SAP MDG, or comparable solutions.
• Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP CX, or Oracle CX.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data catalog solutions.
• Experience supporting customer analytics, AI, and customer intelligence initiatives.
• TOGAF, CDMP, Azure, or other architecture and data management certifications preferred.
