As a Crowd Artist, you will be responsible for creating the motion of crowds in high-end VFX including simulation for planning and previz purposes. Our ideal candidate is a team player, with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and is able to effectively communicate with your peers and the production leadership team on schedules, deadlines, and shot sequence feedback.
Key Responsibilities
Create digital crowd behaviors and simulations to achieve the look, movement, and style envisioned
Collaborate and communicate with VFX/CG Supervisors and Producers in order to implement efficient and effective ways to integrate crowd pipeline tools and techniques
Establish ongoing communication with artists, leads, production and supervisors regarding schedules, deadlines, and shot/sequence feedback
Attend all relevant meetings on shots, sequences, and production
Propose creative approaches and solutions for any specific shots
Qualifications
Two (2) to five (5) years of crowd/motion experience in live-action feature film or TV
Knowledge of Golaem, Maya, and Python is required
Experience in Houdini Crowds, KineFX, and Vellum is a plus
Rigging, animation, and/or lookdev experience is a plus
Experience with mocap retargeting in Maya or MotionBuilder is a plus
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Team player who excels within a collaborative environment
105 000-136 000$ CAD a year
This salary range is specific to applicants applying to our position in Vancouver, BC. To determine your base salary, we consider your qualifications, skills, and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary outside of this range and will also be dependent on your location.
