We are seeking a versatile and customer-focused IT professional to support a mission-critical government customer. This position combines hands-on technical support with policy-level insight and strategic IT planning. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative, thrives in dynamic environments, and is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

You will be responsible for system administration, SharePoint development support, and managing virtual environments in AWS. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work across diverse teams, and a commitment to providing top-tier customer support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on IT support and system administration for both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Administer and support Microsoft SharePoint, including development support and user assistance.
  • Manage virtual servers and cloud services within an AWS environment.
  • Interface with stakeholders at all levels, including end-users, technical staff, and senior leadership, to resolve issues and improve IT operations.
  • Conduct research and analysis of emerging IT and communication technologies to assess their impact on existing government policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing and implementing IT best practices aligned with organizational and mission goals.
  • Ensure systems are compliant with security requirements and perform system hardening as needed.
  • Support network engineering tasks, including configuring and troubleshooting network protocols (TCP/IP, etc.).


Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven ability to work independently as a self-starter, with minimal supervision, while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related tools.
  • Strong customer support and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive customer relationships and contribute to team leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft SharePoint development and administration.
  • System administration experience in both Microsoft and Linux environments (Red Hat, Rocky, Windows).
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and virtualization.
  • Basic network engineering knowledge, including TCP/IP and other protocols.
  • Working knowledge of PKI and Unix/Linux system hardening is a plus.
  • Experience with scripting (Bash, Python) is a plus.

Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with (5) years of relevant work experience OR High School Diploma and (10) years of related experience
  • Security+ or CISSP certification is REQUIRED
