GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Assists the Chief Nurse Anesthetist and the Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology in meeting the goals and objectives of the department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the anesthetic management for all patients presenting for anesthesia care. (35%)
- Assumes all duties of the Chief Nurse Anesthetist during his/her absence from the unit. (35%)
- Establishes effective interpersonal relationships and communication with interdisciplinary perioperative teams. (10%)
- Demonstrates effective leadership and is responsible for ongoing professional growth and development. (10%)
- Adheres to the legal and ethical standards of nursing and of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. (5%)
- Contributes to department, division and hospital goals. (5%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- Certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
- 3 years clinical experience
- CPR - American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
