Critical Care Physician Assistant - CVICU

MedStar Union Memorial Hospital | Baltimore, Maryland

MedStar Medical Group is seeking a Critical Care Physician Assistant to join the CVICU team at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. Practice within MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, a nationally recognized destination for cardiovascular surgery and a key hospital within the MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute, caring for critically ill cardiovascular surgery patients with meaningful autonomy in a collaborative, well-supported multidisciplinary environment.

Position Highlights
  • Practice within an 8-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
  • Care for critically ill patients following complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
  • Perform comprehensive critical care assessments and patient management
  • Perform advanced bedside procedures, including intubation, ventilator management, central and arterial line placement, dialysis catheter insertion, chest tubes, and thoracentesis
  • Flexible scheduling with a day/night rotating schedule or dedicated nocturnist position
  • Combination of 12- and 24-hour shifts
  • Collaborative team of 10 APPs and 6 physicians
  • Practice with a high degree of autonomy utilizing cutting-edge technology
