Full Job Description
Baptist Medical Center is currently looking for an experienced Critical Care Pharmacist to join our team at Baptist Medical Center Downtown. This is a full time, night shift opportunity working in Critical Care units. This is a 7-on/7-off shift, working 8:30 pm - 7:00 am. This Pharmacist will be verifying orders for the adult ED and four adult ICUs. This Pharmacist will have the autonomy to work independently within a small team. This candidate must have experience in an inpatient, clinical environment as a Pharmacist. A completed PGY1 residency and Emergency Department / Intensive Care experience is highly preferred.

As a Critical Care Pharmacist, you will be responsible for:
  • Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for critically ill and emergency department patients during overnight hours.
  • Review, verify, and optimize medication orders to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based pharmacotherapy.
  • Participate in emergency response situations, including code blue, rapid response, trauma, stroke, and sepsis activations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust patient-specific treatment plans.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy and recommend medication adjustments based on clinical status, laboratory values, and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Provide pharmacokinetic monitoring and dosing recommendations for medications such as antimicrobials, anticoagulants, and critical care infusions.
  • Serve as a resource and educator for pharmacy staff, nursing personnel, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate controlled substance management and medication inventory practices during overnight operations.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.


Education & Credential Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Required
  • Registered Pharmacist - State Board of Pharmacy
  • Licensed Pharmacist - DOH
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA


This candidate must have or have the ability to obtain a pharmacist license in the State of Florida.
