Full Job Description
We are hiring for a nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider position. A nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

Local Team Collaboration:
  • We take pride in our established team at SSM Health DePaul Hospital, providing 24/7 care to patients in the 20-bed medical and 18-bed surgical ICU.
  • Our team is comprised of practicing Intensivist physicians and Advanced Practice Providers with a diverse mix of ICU clinical practice time
  • Within the hospital, our team works closely with the multi-disciplinary team within the unit to collaboratively care for patients

Qualifications:
  • Board-certified acute care trained Nurse Practitioner with unrestricted license.
  • Prior ICU APP practice experience - minimum of 2-3 years post-training ICU practice time.
  • Ability to independently assess, examine, and provide care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including demonstrating procedural competency.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • A Missouri state license is preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Scheduling:
  • 12, 12-hour night shifts per month, block shift scheduling, generally 4-5 day stretches.
  • The schedule is managed as equitably as possible, providing APPs with a great work/life balance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality, comprehensive care to medical/surgical/cardiac / neuro and cardiovascular ICU patients.
  • Present and participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds in the ICU.
  • Work autonomously and multitask within the critical care team.
  • Commit to excellence in the clinical service and demonstrate problem-solving abilities necessary to best serve our patients.
  • Must provide evidence of procedural competence with the following procedures: central lines, arterial lines, intubations, and chest tubes.
  • EMR is Epic.
