Qualifications

  • 5+ years in critical care as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
  • Current licensure as an NP or PA in Virginia
  • Experience in inpatient settings, preferably with critically ill patients
  • Certification in ACLS and/or BLS required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of critically ill patients
  • Develop and implement collaborative treatment plans with attending physicians
  • Perform critical care procedures and assist in complex cases
  • Respond proactively to medical emergencies, such as Code Blue situations
  • Effectively communicate with patients' families about care plans and prognoses

Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider - Chesapeake, VA

Bayview Physicians Group is largest, independent multi-specialty medical group serving the Hampton Roads are of Virginia. Bayview is seeking Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners join our Critical Care Medicine team on rotations in Chesapeake, VA. We are seeking high quality PA-Cs and NPs who are able to provide exceptional patient care in the inpatient setting.

  • Perform initial assessments, daily progress notes, and ongoing evaluation of critically ill patients
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the attending physician3
  • Perform and assist in critical care procedures
  • Respond to medical emergencies, including, Code Blue and Rapid Response events
  • Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding care plans, goals of care, and prognosis
