Amentum is soliciting applications for the position of Criminal Intelligence Analyst (Fraud and Financial Crimes), supporting the Boston Regional Intelligence Center’s (BRIC’s) counterterrorism mission through a current contract.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work entails supporting law enforcement investigations and a broad range of analytic priorities focused on matters pertaining to fraud, financial crime, and the perpetrators of such criminal actions. This position demands substantial attention to detail; exceptional analytical skills; strong writing, briefing and communication skills; proactive work ethic; knowledge of data analysis tools; strong information coordination skills; and the capability to collaborate in a team environment. Strong competency navigating the Internet, to include open source/social media content providers and platforms, as well as Boston Police Department-specific tools. This position will operate under strict legal guidelines to ensure the protection of privacy, civil rights and civil liberties of the public and all other constitutional protections.

 

Responsibilities include analyzing Internet/computer/cyber-based information sources and the contents of open source platforms to identify threats to public safety and emerging risks to the Metro Boston region and supporting law enforcement investigations. Developing real time open source intelligence from publicly available information sources by conducting analyses of threatening materials and/or behaviors, or information indicative to risks to public safety, that deliver actionable insights and contribute to the tactical and strategic operational needs of the BRIC. Maintain a keen understanding of how fraud and financial crimes occur, who the primary actors are, and their modus operandi, as well as how these crimes affect the economic, psychological, and social welfare of the victims. Adhering to a persistent analysis schedule; liaising with various units within in the Boston Police Department, as well as other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies; applying qualitative/quantitative analytical techniques to interpret findings; quickly learning the actors, their techniques and tools, and the victims; dynamically adapting work responsibilities to a diverse array of priority information needs; working independently; remaining focused under pressure; and reading and reacting quickly, accurately, and professionally within a fast-paced environment. 

 

Must stay current with the latest financial crime and fraud investigative tradecraft, methodologies, technologies, and programs relating to real time open source analysis.

 

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of privacy, civil rights and civil liberties issues as they pertain to the intelligence cycle within local law enforcement and an intelligence fusion center environment
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to maintain focus under pressure
  • Analytic experience within a local, state, or federal law enforcement agency and/or state/major urban area fusion center 
  • Subject matter expertise in matters pertaining to criminal methods of various fraud and financial crime actors as well as various types of fraud and how these crimes are perpetrated.
  • Strong writing and briefing skills
  • Experience writing intelligence assessments for intelligence community or law enforcement consumers
  • Understanding of the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative
  • Experience performing tactical intelligence analysis in support of criminal investigations
  • Multilingual skills – especially, multilingual reading and writing proficiency

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High School Diploma / GED Minimum
  • Relevant Experience: Nine (9) years’ experience with a high school diploma / GED or four (4) years’ experience with a bachelor’s degree or two (2) years’ experience with a master’s degree
  • Candidates are required to pass a background check, to include a drug test, with the Boston Police Department as a condition of employment and must be able to obtain and maintain a national security clearance at the Secret level. Please note U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Compensation Details:

$80,000-$95,000
